|Dan Needham lives in Victoria BC. He sculpts reductively in a variety of media including wood, marble, limestone and even hockey pucks. He paints in acrylic on canvas, wood and recently on black velvet.His paintings and sculptures also incorporate such varied materials as leather, string, wrought iron, steel, copper, brass, aggregate concrete and incidental objects including lenses, spectacles, wallets and marbles. He has been a glazier, a carpenter, a shipwright, a tree-planter, a docent, a small-business owner, an economist, a programmer and a software licensing specialist.
He is presently employed as a recreation technician and as an IM/IT procurement architect in order to support himself and his wife and his art.
He also collects hats and plays ice-hockey and now, that his body of work is large enough, is looking to make a name for himself as a narrative artist and a herald of a new genre of ikonocaustic art.
